Art and Architecture of Woman, Life, Freedom

In solidarity with “woman life freedom” movement, artists, architects, and urbanists have experimented with turning the tools of their craft toward addressing gender apartheid and imagining liberatory futures. This exhibit was held in conjunction with the Iranian Studies Biennial Conference 1967ais in Mexico City, from August 12-15, 2024. Artworks are exhibited in the public lecture hall of the National Museum of World Cultures, in downtown Mexico City for two months. This exhibit is made possible by the care, energy, and support of the artists who generously shared their work; our jurors, Asma Mehan, Ghazal Jafari, Iman Ganji, Shekoufeh Mohammadi, and Sholeh Shahrokhi; the Association for Iranian Studies; the staff of the National Museum of World Cultures; and the University of Colorado Boulder’s Office for Public and Community-Engaged Scholarship, Department of Geography, and Center for Community-Engaged Design and Research.
